Charmaine Arendse, the mind and passionate soul behind the captivating wines at Esona. Born in the heart of Stellenbosch and later finding her calling in Robertson, Charmaine’s journey to becoming Esona’s esteemed Winemaker is nothing short of extraordinary.

It all began in 2015 when Charmaine joined Esona as a tasting room assistant. Determined and eager to learn, she poured her heart into every task, and her dedication did not go unnoticed. Through hard work and an unwavering commitment to her craft, Charmaine steadily climbed the ranks, blossoming into the skilled Winemaker she is today.

Charmaine’s roots in winemaking trace back to her childhood days spent by her father’s side at a renowned Stellenbosch winery. Her father’s passion for the art of winemaking ignited a spark within her, and she was captivated by the way he spoke about the intricate process. Inspired by his accomplishments, having received accolades as a wine maker at Graham Beck, Charmaine knew that she was destined to make her mark in the world of wine.

Each wine that leaves Charmaine’s hands carries a distinctive story of its own. With meticulous care and artistry, Charmaine enhances the unique character of each wine, presenting a palate that’s smoother, fruit-forward, and brimming with a tantalizing aroma.
